“Glory be to Allah who has taken His servant on a journey in the night, from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, whose precincts We have blessed, so as to show him some of Our Signs: for He sees and hears all things.” This event posed a challenge to the faith of Muslims in the time of the Prophet, a time where air travel is unheard of. How could the Prophet s.a.w, made the journey from Makkah to Jerusalem in one night, when it normally took more than a month to reach? The non-believers of that time had a good time mocking and laughing at the Prophet s.a.w and Muslims, while some Muslims had a hard time coming to terms with the story. It has been reported that some even left Islam altogether In this confusion, Abu Bakar became the first Muslim who stepped out, and publicly proclaimed his trust in the word of the Prophet s.a.w, earning him the name ‘as-Siddiq’ My brothers , my sisters What Abu Bakar did, teaches us the value of strong faith. He defies public mockery and logic of his time to stand by our Prophet s.a.w. By doing it, he proved himself to a be a true Muslim, for a true Muslim believe in the Prophet s.a.w and acknowledge that the mind is limited, and there are things happening that are beyond the human imagination. Abu Bakar has been honoured in surah az-Zumar, verse 33: “And the person who brings the truth, and he who supports it, such are the people who do right.” The night journey as experienced by the Prophet s.a.w was unthinkable in the past, but the concept is not new to us today. Even the idea of space travel is acceptable to us now, thanks to the progress made in the field of science and technology that helps explain the wonders told in the Quran Let us ponder what Allah has said in surah ar-Rahman verse 33: “O assembly of Jinns and men! If you can pass beyond the boundary of the heavens and the earth, do so. Not without authority shall you be able to pass.”, Abu Bakar has proved himself to be a man of great faith, despite the inability of the technology of his time to prove Israk mikraj took place. What about us today? As armed as we are with scientific knowledge and explanation, it should help us in achieving a stronger conviction in Allah and the religion. For knowledge helps prove the authenticity of the Quran, the book of Allah. Allah has said in surah Fussilat verse 53: “Soon will We show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes clear to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that your Lord witness all things?”
We have come a long way in our knowledge of science and technology. But let us not sit back and be complacent about it; there are more of Allah’s mysterious wonders out there that could be studied. While some mysteries will always stay as such for us, others can prove beneficial for us as creations of Allah. May the story of Israk mikraj develop our love towards knowledge and spur us to continue our pursuit of knowledge. And may it, in turn, strengthen our faith in Allah and our Prophet s.a.w. And we pray that with the deep knowledge and Iman make us a person who contributes to the well being of the religion and nation.

Heroines of Islam ~ Ummi SHARIK...The Reward for patience..
GHAZALAH JABIR, or better known as Ummi Syarik was one of the earliest followers of prophet Muhammad s.a.w. She was a diligent Muslim women.
One day, the Qureish enemies arrested her and tied her onto a camel. In the middle of the blazing sun, she was beaten and tortured without any food or drink.
Despite the great test, Ummi Syarik remained calm. She prayed to Allah because she knew that only Allah could help her. "O Allah, Most Knowing , please help me.If I die, let me die with Your blessing."Ummi Sharik prayed.
After three days of brutal torture, she became really week. She could not even blink an eye.
How surprised were the Qureish guards when the next day she appeared fresh and lively. Beside her was an emptied water container. They were even more surprised to find that her hands were still tightly tied.
Amazed, the Qureish guards asked for some explaination. "It is Allah who has revived my strength and vigour. He answer the prayers of His oppressed sevants."Ummi Syarik explained.
The remarkable incident mades them realize their fault.
"If you were true, so would be your religion." the Qureish guards said.
And soon afterwards, the Qureish guards (converted to) Islam.
Heroines of Islam- The Great Test for Siti Hajar
Allah s.w.t commands Prophet Ibrahim a.s to leave his wife Siti Hajar alone with her baby in the middle of the dessert.Siti Hajar obeys the command. Says Prophet Ibrahim,"I will leave you here , Hajar and Ismail....not to be abandoned but to be taken care by Allah s.w.t the Al- Mighty."
Days later the food and drink which Siti Hajar brings has finished. Her litle baby starts crying. There is no more milk to feed him.
Siti Hajar looks around her "There is nothing here except dry land. But I must find water or Ismail will die!" Siti Hajar says to herself. She starts running from one place to another to find water.
Without realizing , she has travelled to and from one place known as Safa and Marwa for seven times .Siti Hajar begins to panic. But her heart stays strong. She believes strongly in Allah s.w.t.
And so while searching and running, water suddenly springs out from he spot where her crying baby is kicking. Immediately Siti Hajar brings herself down and says her syukr(thankfulness) to Allah s.w.t. because HE helps her when she has no one else to turn to.
She goes near the water. As she scoops up the water, Siti Hajar keeps on saying , "Zam Zam !Zam Zam!"Which means "Stay! Stay!" Siti Hajar does not want the water to dissolve back into the dessert.
Well, the water does not absorb back into dry dessert . Instead, it continues to flow until today. That is the zam zam water which is situated by the side of the Kaabah in Makkah Al- Mukarramah.
Indeed, Allah s.w.t makes things happen in such a beautiful way.Allah gives rahmah (love), help and assistance at the utmost critical point because Allah wants to test the faith of Siti Hajar.' And Siti Hajar faces the test with a very strong heart that does not doubt even a bit the Greatness and Mercifulness of Allah.
ASSALAMUALAIKUM...hello everyone...
I've been looking hard out for an Islam Group forum. At first I thought this (Islam) Group was it but there is not much posting happening which is a shame. I hope it benefits all of us inshallah.
A Kuwaiti advert to encourage people to pray, whatever they may be upto! The campaign was called 'Pause and Complete After Prayer'.
Funny but yes we all need to pray, Let's pray earlier. Then play. insha Allah
On the screen appears a verse from the Qur'an stating that:
"Whoever desires the reward of this world, then with Allah is the reward of this world and the hereafter; and Allah is Hearing, Seeing" (4:134) [Shakir Translation]
So when the man sees the verse, it serves as a reminder to go pray. The five-time prayers become obligatory from the moment a person embraces Islam. This is an extremely important tenet of Islam and has been enjoined with great emphasis both in the Holy Quran and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). According to one of his sayings, it is the borderline between a Muslim and a non-believer. As a matter of fact, it is a form of worship which establishes the link between man and his Creator and Benefactor, Allah. Through 'Salat' a person communes with his Lord, the Creator and the Sustainer of the Universe.
Say: 'My prayer and my rites, my living and my dying, are for Allah alone, the Lord of all the worlds. (Qur'an, 6:162)
There is no excuse to miss a salaat (except our own death!). There is nothing to do if we know that we are going to miss our salaat. We pray or we miss. May allah give us hidaya to offer our salaat with khushoo, and may He accept all our worshipful obedience, Ameen.
Maa salaama..BARAKAL LAHU FEEKUM
Islam is endless revolution, the eternal quest to reach out to God. It is the universal desire of human beings to pose eternal questions and attempt their answers in our brief span here on earth.Today , a hundred years later, there are about fifty or more Muslim states, over a billions Muslims in the world (with , significantly, over more than a billion Muslims in the world (with significantly, over ten millions in the West.)
Perhaps because of the global Islamic position that is forming, there is also a feeling among non-muslim that Islam is a threat.Name it Andalusia..Kashmir, Jerusalem,Bosnia,Kosovo,Afganistan- the list of Muslim casualties is long. It brings together the past and the present. It acts as an open wound. The globe has shrunk dramatically , we need to understand the other dispassionately, with a view to living together as good neighbours.
Muslim central institution is the family. The proper behaviour of all the members of the family is constantly emphasized in the in Qur'an and Hadith, ideal behaviour encourages dignity and modesty in the family.Muslim like dignity and honour for their families, in particular, for the elderly, the women and children We do not like police or paramilitary forces to burst into our homes and humiliate our families. This occurred in my country and throughout the west, it is often forgotten by native inhibitants that Muslims were actually invited by the governments .
We Muslim would like some control our lives, some perpetuation of our own customs and values, when these are threatened, Muslims are threatened; confusion and anger ensue. the major anger and distress among Muslims need to be addressed; the routinne beatings , torture and killings must stop ,life has become hell on earth for these Muslims , those of casualty that had been afflicted to ,
Irag for example. The west must illustrate to the Muslims that justice will be done ,in turn Muslims must convince the world that the media images of them as law-breaking and violent people are not true, that foreign embassies, diplomats, travellers and non-muslims are safe in their country. The fight againts injustice and oppression must continue but must take other forms, these will assist understanding and tolerance..'What comes from the lips reaches the ears,What comes from the heart reaches the heart;"an Arab proverb.I hope this reach the heart.
It's not always a blind man who falls in a pit. Sometime it's one who can see.

This is one of my most favorite recitations of Qasidah Burdah. It is done by Mesut Kurtis. May Allah reward him for this beautiful rendition of this most beloved and treasured Qasidah.
